Ghent is very bike friendly!

Directions from the main entrance of the train station ‘Gent Sint-Pieters’:

• Cross over to the far right-hand corner of the Maria-Hendrikaplein and then turn into the Koningin Elisabethlaan;
• This street joins the Kortrijksesteenweg. Turn left into the Kortrijksesteenweg and follow this street as far as the traffic lights;
• At the traffic lights, cross the junction and turn left onto the Ijzerlaan;
• The second street on the right is the Bijlokekaai (after crossing the bridge);
• Turn onto the Bijlokesite on your left, you will see a barrier;
• The IOA is located past that barrier, in building nr 4.

Ghent is approximately 40 minutes away from Brussels & 50 minutes away from Antwerp.

The IOA is located within a 15 minute walk from the station ‘Gent Sint-Pieters’.

You can also take Tram 1 (heading for ‘Wondelgem’ or ‘Evergem’) at the tram station, opposite the main entrance of the train station. You can get off at the ‘Charles de Kerckhovelaan’. Further directions:

• At the traffic lights, cross the junction and turn left onto the Ijzerlaan;
• The second street on the right is the Bijlokekaai (after crossing the bridge);
• Turn onto the Bijlokesite on your left, you will see a barrier;
• The IOA is located past that barrier, in building nr 4.

Leave the highway and take exit ‘Gent-Centrum’.

• Follow straight ahead and take exit nr. 1 ‘Ledeberg’;
• At the bottom of the ‘fly-over bridge’ move over to the left-hand lane. At the traffic lights: turn left into ‘R40/Sint-Lievenslaan’;
• Follow the signs to ‘N90/Eeklo’. Continue along Sint-Lievenslaan – Citadellaan – Charles de Kerckhovelaan – Ijzerlaan. Once you have passed the traffic lights at ‘The Lounge, Dinner & Grill House’, continue on to the Godshuizenlaan;
• At this point you can see the Bijlokesite on your right. Drive to the next set of lights and turn right into Bijlokehof. Follow this street and turn right into Jozef Kluyskensstraat;
• At the end of this street you turn right into Bijlokekaai. As you can see on the map the IOA itself is situated on the Bijlokesite, building number 4. Only suppliers are allowed on the Bijlokesite. We need to ask IOA guests to find parking outside the site (e.g. at Jozef Kluyskensstraat or Bijlokekaai). Please do not forget to get a ticket at the parking meter.

When you arrive at ‘Brussels National Airport’ (Zaventem), follow the direction ‘Belgian railways’. The train station is located underneath the airport. Buy a ticket at one of the vending machines for a direct train to ‘Gent Sint-Pieters’. The train ride will take approximately 1 hour.
